This year’s Charge Conferences will be held virtually via Zoom. Pastors and admins will receive an email for leaders to register for their Charge Conference. All of the forms are on EVC and should be completed on EVC. Blank copies of some of the forms can be found in the Digital Packet. The MINUTES PAGE is ERD specific. Please share the Minutes Page and the Attendance Sheet with the Recording Secretary.

All forms need to be completed 10 days prior to the Charge Conference. Notify the District Office at elizabethriverdistrict@vaumc.org when you have completed forms on EVC.

Each Charge needs to discern who the Recording Secretary will be and notify the District Office by October 1 with this person’s name and email address, as well as if this person needs to be elected at the Charge Conference. If the Recording Secretary is the Church Council/Leadership Team secretary, they do not need to be elected at Charge Conference. The District Office will be communicating directly to Recording Secretaries about their role in the Charge Conference.

All forms should be given to the Recording Secretary prior to the Charge Conference so that s/he will be able to check off forms on the Minutes Page. If forms require a signature, they should be signed prior to being given to the Recording Secretary. At the conclusion of the Charge Conference, the Recording Secretary is to sign forms that need her/his signature. Within 7 days after the Charge Conference, all of the forms should be scanned and emailed to the District Office. If hard copies need to be delivered to the Office, please notify the Office first.

As of September 2, 2020, the Bishop and Cabinet have discerned that Vital Congregation Goals are not required for 2020 Charge Conferences.
