The season for church charge conferences is upon us. The available dates for charge conferences will be from October 13, 2024, through November 30, 2024.

Each church/charge will be able to pick the date and time that best suits their schedule. We do suggest that you use your monthly administrative leadership meeting to conduct the charge conference.

Once you have determined your charge conference date and have determined who will be presiding, send that information to the district office. Once your date has been calendared, you will need to start preparing your documents. Multiple sessions will be available at the Virginia Beach and the Parksley offices (please see below) for assistance with Unity and the forms required for the charge conference.

All documents will need to be submitted to the district office 5 days before the charge conference and signed documents will need to be uploaded to Unity within 5 days of your charge conference being held.

If you are an elder in full connection, you will be authorized to preside over the church conference for the church you are serving. If you are not an elder in full connection, you will need to find someone to preside over your charge conference. A list of available Elders in full connection is attached for your review. Only Elders in Full Connection can preside over charge conferences, if you have any trouble finding an Elder that is available for your chosen date please contact the district office for assistance.

Additionally, please note that the District Charge Conference will be held via Zoom on November 17, 2024. Signups will be sent the first week of November for the District Charge Conference.
